Estrellas fijas, nodos y parte de la fortuna

Lo siguiente que suelen hacer los astrólogos es colocar los nodos de la luna, o la cabeza y la cola del dragón en el horóscopo. En la quinta columna de las Efemérides esta marcado, “Pl. El nodo de Luna” , que es el lugar del nodo norte o cabeza de dragón, el opuesto a lo que es la cola del dragón, estos se       calculan de la misma manera que todos los planetas; pero como estos puntos, junto con la parte de la Fortuna, son por el autor de este trabajo considerados superfluos inútiles, reliquias de las absurdas supersticiones de la edad oscura, (inventado probablemente para servir al vacío en el arte, creado por el desconocimiento de Urano), podemos prescindir de ellos; el autor lo considera irrelevante para su actual sistema de ciencia estelar, para entrometerse en el tiempo y la paciencia del lector por un inútil con serie ininteligible de palabras y signos sin significado.— por lo tanto, la figura está completa, excepto colocar en ella las principales estrellas fijas que caen cerca de la eclíptica; y en consecuencia se presume que tiene ciertas influencias en las natividades (o genituras) según se encuentren dentro de los cinco grados de la cúspide de cualquier Casa, o dentro de los 5º del lugar de cualquier planeta en el esquema.

The next thing usually taught by Astrologers is to place the Moon’s nodes, or the dragon’s head and tail in the horoscope. In the 5ª column of the Ephemeris, “ Pl. Lun’s node”’ is marked, which is the place of the north node or dragon’s head, the opposite to which is the dragon’s tael, these are calculated in the same way as all the planets; but as these points,together with the pFo, are by the author of this work deemed as useless superfluities, the relics of the superstitious absurdities of the dark ages, (invented  probably to serve the vacuum in the art, created by the non-discovery of Ura) and can be dispensed with; the author deems it irrelevant to his present system of starry science, to intrude on the reader’s time and patience by a useless and unintelligible array of words and signs without meaning.—The figure is therefore complete, except placing therein the principal fixed stars which fall near the ecliptic; and consequently are presumed to have certain influences in nativities (or genitures, ) according as they may be found within five degrees of the cusp of any house, or within five degrees of the place of any planet in the scheme.
    

The table subjoined contains a true calculation of their places in the heavens, up to the year 1828, with their different magnitudes and natures, according to the cleverest authors.
     La tabla adjunta contiene un cálculo de sus lugares en los cielos, hasta el año 1828, con sus referentes magnitudes y naturalezas, según los autores más reconocidos.

 

In the foregoing table we have given the various significations of the fixed stars, according to the best authors; who, as well as several modern Astrologers of eminence, attribute great virtue and efficacy to their configurations, with the active or passive significators- A skilful amateur in the science, supposes their influence to contribute more particularly to the destinies of kingdoms and nations, than to individual fate.—The fixed stars increase their longitude every year about 50". Thus moving through one degree of the zodiac in seventy-two years, and are two thousand one hundred and sixty years in passing through one sign in the heavens, which, doubtless, may naturally be expected to cause important
revolutions, and manifest changes in terrestrial affairs.

     En la tabla anterior hemos dado los diversos significados de las estrellas fijas, según los mejores autores; quienes al igual que otros eminentes astrólogos modernos, atribuyen a sus configuraciones gran virtud y eficacia, con los signofcadores activos o pasivos --- Un hábil aficionado a esta ciencia, supondra su influencia mas a contribuir a los destinos de reinos y naciones, que al destino individual.--- las estrellas aumentan su longitud cada año alrededor del 50". De este modo moviéndose a través de un grado del zodíaco en 72 años, y estan 2160 años de paso por un solo Signo, lo cual, sin duda, puede caber esperar que provoquen revoluciones importantes y manifiesten cambios en los asuntos terrestres.

Having placed the “ fixed stars” tn the horoscope by the foregoing rules, the reader will observe the whole process at one view as underneath, for which purpose we give the figure.
